Invisible Icons

Over recent years, while becoming frustrated by what seemed to be considered a legend within football, I started to remember those who truly stood up to the status.

A trend has emerged over the last couple of decades – the overuse of “world-class” and “GOAT” – while modern day footballers often do most of their talking on social media, while boosting their personal brands. In my mind, true icons of the sport have delivered and are remembered for what they did on the pitch… for better, or sometimes worse!

Below is what started as something to pass the time during Covid lockdowns, and became a little homage of mine to some footballing icons – people that you know who they are without even needing to see them.
