Threat of ESL Shows Need for Better Governance in Football

Execution

Created an efficient planning process to ensure that Fair Game had in place the organisation’s stance on the new Regulator Bill as soon as it was announced. Created an online space that enabled those interested to get as little or as much info as they needed through using the website to give overview, more detail, or full detail to readers. Executed on a number of reports delivered by the research team, including Environmental report; Financial Report; and Nine Pillars needed to make a regulator a success.

Results

Fair Game has been vocally campaigning for a fairer football and achieved regular coverage in mainstream and national media on topics such as the Superleague; Financial fairness; Foreign and state ownership of football clubs; environmental issues; scrapping FA Cup replays; and much more. Robust messaging online for advocacy teams and MPs to be able to see Fair Game’s position within 24 hours of the Bill announcement. Over 20 pieces of core coverage around the Bill with Fair Game’s message of stronger backstop powers and fairer financial flow, including national print, online, and broadcast coverage. FG messaging quoted a number of times in the Houses of Parliament during the reading of the Bill.
